Caught fire, burned and sank fifteen miles below Thunder Bay and ten miles from shore on Lake Huron, on December 1, 1897. Crew rescued from lifeboats by propeller SIR WILLIAM FAIRBAIRN. Vessel was bound from Cleveland, OH, for Milwaukee, WI, with cargo of coal at time of loss; no lives lost.
