She struck a reef outlying the island and was wrecked, then slipped off the reef into deeper water. Though the wrecking tugs Leviathan and GEO. McCLELLAN were sent to assist her, she was considered hopeless and was stripped and abandoned by the 28th. Owned by Kirby, Carpenter & Co., Milwaukee
